Local Fun
Golf and Tennis - Golf courses and tennis courts are available at Bogue Banks Country Club,
Star Hill Country Club and Silver Creek. Tennis courts are also available by appointment at
the Emerald Recreation Department (a small fee is charged).
Charter Boats
Charter boats for deep sea fishing are available in Swansboro, Morehead City or Emerald
Isle. We suggest fishing on the Jeannie III out of Island Harbor Marina in Emerald Isle.

Beaufort Colonial Port
Historical tours, NC Maritime Museum, unique shopping and waterfront dining.
Swansboro Colonial Port
Quaint shops, historical district, and waterfront dining.
Fort Macon State Park
Near Atlantic Beach, Fort Macon is a Civil War Fort near the ocean. There is a gift shop,
picnic area and bath house available. 252-726-3775

Gym, weight machines, children's programs and tennis courts (small users fee charged).

Hammocks Beach State Park
A passenger ferry to Bear Island (an undeveloped barrier island). Terrific shell hunting,
bird watching, and swimming are all good reasons to visit Hammocks Beach. (Small users fee
is charged).
NC Aquarium
Near Pine Knoll nature trails through maritime forest, gift shop, and a children's
"touch tank." 252-247-4003. (Small users fee charged).
Horse Rides

"Worthy Is The Lamb": an outdoor drama at the Crystal Coast Amphitheater

What's Happening Locally
Restaurants & Grocery Stores - There are many varieties of restaurants to choose from
on the Crystal Coast. Whether you are looking for family style, a romantic dinner for two,
or just a quick bite to eat, you can find it here. And like always, we'll be glad to recommend
our favorites!
On the island at Emerald Plantation shopping center there is a Food Lion. Just across the
bridge at the intersection of HWY 24 & 58 you will find the LOWE'S Food Store. And for
those fortunate enough to here during the spring and summer, you will find numerous fresh
vegetable stands in Cedar Point. Shrimp, fish and other fresh seafood can be purchased at
seafood shops and roadside stands.
